Welcome to my website. I hope you'll find something of interest here. I'm a former BBC Radio and Sky News anchor who's morphed into a fully-fledged 'poacher turned gamekeeper', advising people from many walks of life how to relax, organise their thoughts and positively shine when they're confronted with the media in its many different forms.  Look further and you'll find details of the range of training courses offered by my company, Media Savvy.

I do a few other things too, including travel writing and photography. Here I am, brandishing a newly-minted copy of The Gustav Holst Way, the first guidebook to a fascinating, beautiful trail across the Cotswolds, where the great composer found musical inspiration in his youth. Publication of the book was timed to coincide with the centenary of Holst's epic composition The Planets, probably the most widely-known classical composition in British history. Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band doesn't count!

Read more about the Gustav Holst Way here or click on my 'books' page for the full story of how this sensitive, fragile young man from genteel Cheltenham hauntingly foretold the future of the world.

The book is available in printed or digital form online - and you can complete the exercise by putting on your walking boots and completing some or all of this wonderful trail, which is divided into five easy sections.

I know a thing or two about the mentality of the media folk who interpret facts, figures, comment, propaganda, speculation, wishful thinking and gossip - and convert it into the daily news you watch, hear and read every day. With experience from both sides of the fence, I'd be delighted to pass on some of these insights to you, as well as helping you develop the essential skills you need to engage effectively with the media - if and when the time comes to protect and/or project your personal or company's reputation.
